Carers Week Events
Main Room, 29 Church St, Slough, SL1 1PL
Drop in between 10am-3pm
Many people who help look after a loved one in their life (be it a spouse, parent, child, relative, friend or neighbour) don’t think of themselves as ‘carers’, but whatever you call yourself one thing remains true – those relied upon to care for others are at serious risk of neglecting their own wellbeing and mental & physical health.
Now help is at hand thanks to a Programme of FREE Help, Support & Pampering being offered by SPACE, Slough in celebration of Carers Week, 6th – 12th June.
Whatever your interest, if you are providing an unpaid caring role to someone in your life, there will be something for YOU this week:
Perhaps you need a Carer’s Assessment, Advice on Welfare or Benefits, or Help to deal with your Stress; or maybe you’d like to relax, meet some new friends, find out about a possible support group or new hobby; or just sit back and enjoy a Facial or Massage followed by a Cream Tea? The first 100 Carers attending activities will also receive a FREE Gift Bag, courtesy of Tesco and E. Sargeant & Son.
Activities will take place throughout the week at 29 Church St, Slough, thanks to sponsors who also include Mars, Marks and Spencer and Herschel Arms, and on Wednesday 8th June there will be a Drop-In Exhibition Fair where carers can meet a variety of useful organisations including Meet & Mingle, Royal Voluntary Service, Healthwatch Slough, Community Transport and many others.
On Thursday 9th June The Worshipful, The Mayor of Slough, Councillor Arvind Dhaliwal will attend the launch of Meet & Mingle group at 1.30pm.
